Shiplog Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 28, 2026

Last Updated: June 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shiplog at https://getshiplog.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Shiplog.

2. Service Description

Shiplog is an AI-powered SaaS changelog tool. It intercepts GitHub pull request merges via webhook, generates plain-English changelog drafts using AI, lets you review and edit those drafts, and publishes approved entries to a hosted public changelog page, an embeddable iframe widget, and a JSON feed.

3. Account Requirements

You must have a valid GitHub account to use Shiplog. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account and for all activity that occurs under your Shiplog account. You must be at least 13 years of age to use Shiplog. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the service.

4. Free Tier

The Free tier is available at no cost and includes: unlimited repository connections, unlimited AI-generated changelog drafts, unlimited publishing, a hosted public changelog page, an embeddable widget, and a JSON feed. Free tier changelogs display a "Powered by Shiplog" badge.

5. Pro Tier and Billing

Shiplog Pro costs USD $12.00 per month, billed as a flat monthly subscription regardless of the number of repositories, users, or entries. Pro removes the "Powered by Shiplog" badge from your changelog and widget.

All payments for Shiplog Pro are processed by Creem (creem.io), our merchant of record. Creem is the legal seller of record for all Shiplog Pro subscriptions and is responsible for payment processing, tax collection and remittance, invoicing, and refund handling. By subscribing to Shiplog Pro, you also agree to Creem's Terms of Service available at creem.io.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal accessible from your Shiplog dashboard settings. Upon cancellation, your Pro access continues until the end of the current paid period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Shiplog to publish false, defamatory, illegal, or harmful content; to connect repositories you do not own or have authorization to monitor; to attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the service or its infrastructure; or to use the service in any way that violates GitHub's Terms of Service or any applicable law.

7. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the changelog content you create and publish through Shiplog. By publishing entries through Shiplog, you grant Shiplog a limited, non-exclusive license to host and display that content on your public changelog page, embeddable widget, and JSON feed for the purpose of providing the service. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of your published changelogs.

8. AI-Generated Content

Changelog drafts are generated by AI based on your pull request data. AI-generated text may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated drafts before publishing. Shiplog does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content.

9. Service Availability

Shiplog is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation of the service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications at any time. We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by service downtime or interruptions.

10. Intellectual Property

Shiplog, including its code, design, name, and branding, is owned by the developer. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited right to use the service as described herein.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shiplog and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of Shiplog shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Shiplog at any time if you violate these Terms or if we have reason to believe your use of the service is harmful. You may stop using the service at any time. Upon termination, your public changelog pages will no longer be accessible and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Shiplog after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
